Discussion thread

One feature that I think is essential for a participatory community is a discussion thread (like WhatsApp, Telegram, etc.). Having to create a new post every time someone wants to speak up doesn’t encourage conversation and stifles the spontaneity of sharing. Would it be possible to set the channel options so that it’s just a single discussion thread?
